The "Jyoti" Will Now Become an Epochal Gigantic Flame

Akhand Jyoti Sansthan

"[….] The transformation of the era is a goal, with the refinement of people's mind and the enhancement of virtuous tendencies – as its two endeavors to achieve this goal. The next century, the twenty-first century, holds within its womb those great possibilities upon which the revival of human dignity can be contemplated. In other words, it can also be called a universal transformation that will ultimately end the current horrors (faced by humanity). For this purpose, our sadhana has been ongoing at the level of what self-born Manu and Shatarupa, and Vashistha-Arundhati had done, and will continue irrespective of whether we (referring to Vandaniya Mataji and himself) exist in physical sheath or not…."

— Excerpt from 'Jyoti Phir Bhi Bujhegi Nahi', Akhand Jyoti, pp. 26–28, January 1988

When these words flew from the revered Gurudev's pen in a revolutionary form on the pages of Akhand Jyoti, infused with divine energy, nearly four decades ago, it was a time of his Sukshmikaran Sadhana. The sadhana was at its peak, the writing had taken the form of a flame, and the Gayatri Pariwar appeared eager to embrace the entire world with expansion of its divine mission like Matsya-Avatar. Amidst several visible global effects of his spiritual endeavors in the invisible subtle realms, revered Gurudev was gradually seen wrapping up his physical journey.

Even though they did not accept this possibility, many members of Gayatri Pariwar were somehow sensing that he would conclude his worldly journey in near future. For those who were unfamiliar with this truth, revered Gurudev further wrote in this article that, "When the time for the transformation of the body comes, we (revered rishi-couple Param Pujya Gurdev and Param Vandaniya Mataji) will have to become formless, but we will continue to be with you all, as our subtle bodies will merge into the Akhand Jyoti — ceaseless light of the wick-flame of the 'Akhand Deepak'. After the end of our physical bodies, those who wish to see us with their physical eyes will be able to see us in the burning flame of this ever-lit divine flame."

Those who have the ability to understand the message behind the words can infer the indication of the revered Gurudev that the ceaseless flame of the 'Akhand Deepak', which can be considered direct evidence of the presence of divine powers and rishi-consciousness on this earth, is itself a living symbol of the expanding light of his epochal divine mission.

It is not merely a coincidence that at the age of 15, when Gurudev had got the first sight of his divine guide as a beacon of light, he was instructed to establish an eternal ghee lamp (Akhand Deepak) and complete a series of great spiritual endeavors of Gayatri Mahapurashcharans in its presence. While others search for gurus, the divine mentor himself came to Gurudev, recognizing his worthiness. What Gurudev called the "sunrise of fortune" was indeed the dawn of fortune for all of us — the planting of the seeds of the epochal divine mission with initiation of Yug Nirman Yojana. This all happened in the presence of the 'Akhand Deepak', the centenary of which is being celebrated at a grand level by the Gayatri Pariwar in 2026. For those who calculate fortunes, this will be such a fortune — the opportunity to witness what is supposed to occur after the accumulation of punyas over thousands of lifetimes.

Year 2026 is not only the centenary year of the lighting of the 'Akhand Deepak' and commencement of the epochal tapa-sadhana of Param Pujya Gurudev in its presence, it is also the centenary of the descent of Param Vandaniya Mataji on this earth. The past hundred years have been such in the history of the Gayatri Pariwar's divine journey that even if the ink runs out while writing about them, the pages will still fall short. The journey, which began in the worship room of teenage Shriram (Gurudev) in Anvalkheda (Dist. Agra, U.P.) in 1926, transformed into a worldwide spiritual movement. The seed quickly grew into a vast tree. Bricks became buildings, words became scriptures, and calls became collective echoes of mass-inspiration during this period. Now is the time to give completeness to the expansion of this unique movement.

After the building is erected, the architect checks if any cementing is left, if any corner appears unpainted, and the task of filling and painting is done with a view to completeness. A similar responsibility has now come upon our shoulders. The scope of the plan of Param Pujya Gurudev and Param Vandaniya Mataji includes not just Haridwar, Uttarakhand, or India but the entire world — that is why the plan given by revered Gurudev is called the Yug Nirman Yojana — the plan for creation of a New Era of spiritual awakening and consequent global peace, harmony, and blissful and holistic progress for all.

It is our responsibility to ensure that wherever the echoes of the thoughts of Pujya Gurudev and Vandaniya Mataji have not yet reached, we become the ones to carry them there — just like the construction Engineer who gives the final touch to the building to ensure that no corner is left without proper plastering and painting.

Param Vandaniya Mataji and the 'Akhand Deepak' are two names, two manifestations of the same divine consciousness. Those associated with the mission since long may recall that in 1971, Param Pujya Gurudev, after giving a farewell message from Mathura, entrusted the 'Akhand Deepak' to the divine protection of Param Vandaniya Mataji and set out on a higher-level spiritual journey to some unknown destination in the arduous Himalayas. This meant that both consciousnesses are inseparable.

Every member of the Gayatri Parivar should remember that the hundred years of Param Pujya Gurudev's penance, the hundred years of the 'Akhand Deepak's manifestation, and the hundred years of Param Vandaniya Mataji's birth — though appearing as three different events — are indeed one, just like the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati at Prayag becomes one stream.

In this context, the year 2026 has come with an invitation for every member of the Gayatri Pariwar, and that is to spread the sacred light of Gurudev's guidance to every home.

When revered Gurudev began writing the monthly Akhand Jyoti, many distinguished individuals tried to discourage him, saying that publishing it without any advertisements was akin to financial suicide. Instead of responding to them, revered Gurudev wrote in Akhand Jyoti itself: "If this flame is lit by a human, it would extinguish, but if it is lit by God, it will burn and continue to illuminate eternally." This is the truth. The flame he lit will not only continue to burn but will also become more intense.

In the January 1988 issue of Akhand Jyoti magazine, revered Gurudev also wrote: "Our jyoti will spread further. The mission will move towards its goal like an arrow." The implication is clear — our responsibility is to make this Akhand Jyoti even more profound by further spreading its light: the light of pure wisdom generated by Gayatri Sadhana in its divine presence. This fortunate time has come with a single call for every parijan to be in the first row of the Yug Nirmanis (the dedicated volunteers of Yug Nirman Yojana).

The flow of fortune is surging, the flame of thought-revolution is blazing, and those who are sensitive to the pains of humanity and emotionally evolved have been called upon. Those who hear the epochal call of Mahakal (The All-Conquering Supreme Time-Spirit) should not remain silent; they should come forward and strive to show a righteous direction to the society. The divine radiance of Akhand Jyoti is calling the Yug Nirmanis to become the torch-bearers — a privilege that only the truly fortunate ones receive.
